An Open Letter to Denver Street Food Vendors

Street food vendors!

With the inevitable end of summer also comes the inevitable disappearance of the high profile events that have helped you make our local street food scene take off. Gone will be Civic Center Eats. Farmer’s markets and street fairs will be packed up and tucked away, not to be seen again until late spring. And while we’re all for changes of season, we are not looking forward to the time when our opportunities to see you and to partake in your fine fare also start to fade.

The Endless Summer

To that end, we’ve vowed to make it always summer at DenverStreetFood.com. We’re a small handful of street food enthusiasts and want to work with you to make the scene viable throughout the winter, so that when you all hit the road again in the spring, your fans will have not forgotten you, and perhaps even have grown in number.  We’re writing from a strictly consumer perspective, and are evangelizing about your work to pretty much everyone we know.

What we’ve got

At DenverStreetFood.com, you’ll find a growing number of drooling reviews of your work, Facebook and Twitter links for the vendors we already know about, a Twitter list widget showing constant updates from the feeds listed at http://twitter.com/snarf_sd/denverstreetfood, and a contact form for you to let us know what we’re missing. We also have some time and energy to invest in making your ideas happen.

What we need

To keep up the energy you guys have so tirelessly generated this summer, we ask just one thing: let us know what you’re up to. Feel free to use the contact form, to email us at denverstreetfood AT gmail dot com, or to leave a comment on the site. We’re following you on Twitter and we like you on Facebook, but we’d also like to use our screen real estate to generate new customers for you – people that may not be following you on FB… yet!  Let us know the specials you’ll be running, any open-to-the-public events you’ll be working, and the plans you have to keep your cart, truck, trailer, or stand purring like a kitten through these colder months.

In return, we hope to offer you a news and review outlet that is 100% dedicated to making the Denver Street Food scene rich, vibrant, and lasting. The site, like our scene, is relatively new and growing. Your input and feedback is 100% welcome. As are recommendations for contributors – we can only eat so much!

We’ll be printing out small flyers for DenverStreetFood.com and would love to give you all a handful to put out for your customers to get them in-the-know and to spread the word on the site, so we’ll be trying to hunt all of you down in the next few weeks.  For our Boulder peeps, please let us know if you are in Denver within the next week or so.

If you have ideas of how we can help you, please DM us or leave your thoughts in the Comments section.
