Even Texans love Civic Center Eats, folks! And if there’s one thing I learned from my years of living in Texas, those people are SERIOUS about their food. Texas is its own country in a lot of ways; a hybrid of Southern and Western. They’re as serious about their Mexican food as they are their Southern comfort foods. It’s a place where you could easily erect a church to barbecue and get thousands of worshipers. No small surprise then that when Texas foodie Kristi and her pals visited Civic Center Eats a couple weeks back, they gravitated toward the inimitable Porker Cart, The Biscuit Bus, Pinche Tacos, and couldn’t resist the lure of Deluxe’s delicious fried mac n cheese balls! Top it all off with some of The Inventing Room’s desserty wizardy, and that’s one helluva meal. You can read all about her extended – and extensive! – dining experience and more at her blog, Austin Farm to Table. Kristi, thanks for visiting! We’re glad you enjoyed the grub! And I can’t believe you ate all of that! Nice work!
Civic Center Eats: Last Day! Really.
Now for you locals, today’s your last chance to enjoy Civic Center Eats for the season. We’re pretty sure it will return next summer, bigger and better than ever, but we’re sure as hell gonna miss it while it’s gone. I’ll be there, soaking up some great late Colorado summer sun, and you should be too. There’s gotta be something on one of those menus you haven’t tried yet! Eat it today!
In my defense, we didn’t eat EVERYTHING – it just sounds like we did. We were pretty full when we were done. Looking forward to what you guys will come up with next year!
