We know we’ve got a great emerging street food scene here in Denver, but we absolutely love it when people far and wide recognize how fantastic it is. It’s especially encouraging when that recognition comes from some of the hottest street food scenes around (remember when Austinite Kristi visited Civic Center Eats and raved about it? Remember how good that felt?!).
New York, New York!
I think it’s safe to say that in the U.S., New York City is king of street food scenes. They had street food long before street food was even referred to as street food – it was just food that happened to be prepped and sold on the street. I’m happy to say that the folks at NewYorkStreetFood.com have taken notice of what’s going on here in Denver. Perry from NewYorkStreetFood.com sent us a nice note to let us know he’d discovered a write up of our scene at Culturemob.com, and that he had taken the time to post that info to his blog. There’s a whole lotta love there for Biker Jim (of course!), and mentions of some of our other faves including the Biscuit Bus, the Cupcake Truck, and Brava!
Featured Vendor Feature, Map
After checking out NewYorkStreetFood.com, I have to say I love the featured vendor feature. Not sure I’d ever find the time to keep up with it, but we have so many interesting stories around the Denver scene, it’s an intriguing option, for sure! I’ve also been mulling over how best to track where our vendors are. The NYSF blog has a great map feature, but our vendors are so damned… well, mobile that I’m not sure how effective that kind of approach would be here in Denver. Anyone have any great ideas of how we can best keep track of where everyone’s at? The twitter feed to the right here helps, but… Ideas?
Perry, if you ever make it out to the Mile High City, holler. I’ll treat you to some pizza from Basic Kneads and a beer from Great Divide!
