You didn’t think we’d let the season’s final Justice League of Street Food party pass without any fanfare here at DenverStreetFood.com, did you? Of course you didn’t. It doesn’t hurt that we’re suckers for Halloween. Bloodsuckers, that is.
The Deets
Same bat time, same bat channel, folks. The event is this Thursday, October 28 from 5p-10p. Costumes are encouraged, but you’ll still be served up some fine grub(worms) even if you don’t doll yourself up as the rum swilling, Keith-Richards-channeling Captain Jack or the True Blood swilling, Southern-drawling Bill Compton. Plus, if you do dress up in either outfit, you’ll have an excuse for being vaguely incomprehensible after your fourth Great Divide beer and third order of fried mac n cheese balls from Deluxe’s Little Orange Rocket.
The shindig will be at the same lot, at 29th and Huron (map), and you’ll have a blast!
Vendors in attendance will include: Biker Jim, Steamin’ Demon, Steuben’s Truck, Fat Sully’s Slice Truck, The Biscuit Bus, The Cupcake Truck, The Inventing Room, Pinche Tacos, The Gastro Cart, and Deluxe’s Little Orange Rocket.
Cloak and Dagger and Rock n Roll?
In an interesting twist, DenverStreetFood.com received this cryptic missive just after midnight last night:
From: Your Secret Service Agent
Email: fake@fake.comMessage:
There will be a food truck event this Thursday, 10/28/10. This time
there will be a new truck added to the line up. New food? No. Then
what? Bands for Lands! A live music truck.Same time. Same location.
Whatever could it mean? A little sleuthing around on the tubes led me to discover this on the BandsForLands facebook page:
Bands for Lands is a non-profit that works to communicate a message of sustainability and conservation, and per their website, “One way [they] accomplish this is through the Mobile Edutainment Collaboratory (MEC), a bio-diesel/vegetable oil (SVO) fueled, 24ft. box truck converted into a state of the art sound/visual media stage.” Could it be that there will be mobile music as well as mobile food at this final (for the season) bash?! We sure as hell hope so! That said, we could totally be misreading the message, and there could be another food truck event we know nothing about happening somewhere else! But how likely is that?
I’ve missed the last two Justice League parties because of traveling. I won’t miss this one, and you shouldn’t either. I’ll be the one slurring in a Southern accent. But probably not the only one. See you all there!
