Lost Coffee, that is. Meet Brewtus, the caffeine-fueled, full-service coffee shop on wheels. Powered by John and Scott, a couple of guys who know a fine cup of joe when they see/smell/taste one, the word on the street is that Lost’s coffee is liquid gold. Despite a couple of earnest attempts to catch these guys on their occasional forays into Denver (they’re based in Castle Rock), I haven’t had a chance to check them out yet, so can’t speak for it personally, but their Facebook page speaks for itself! It is filled with posts from raving addicts, waiting for Brewtus’ next appearance. It’s clear that Lost Coffee is doing it right!
They’ve got a full espresso menu, offer smoothies of all sorts – including coffee smoothies (sold!), and have a variety of pastries and bagels to go with that morning cup. If you’re not a continental breakfast kind of guy or gal, try the kickass burritos – meaty and meatless options aplenty. They also have less eggy, more lunchy burritos for those midday stops, as well.
In addition to brewing quality stuff, they support other local businesses, to boot. Lost Coffee sources its pastries from Douglas County bakeries, the burritos are Boulder-made, and their coffee, which is available by the pound for the truly addicted, is roasted locally as well. And as if that wasn’t enough for you to give ’em a whirl, the coffee is certified organic and fair trade. Right on!
Where to Get Lost
Lost is a Castle Rock operation, so they can most often be found down south. They do make their way into Denver with some frequency, though! They are most often found at:
- 730 North Ridge Road in Castle Rock (their usual stop)
- 900 S. Broadway – Denver
- 55 Madison – Cherry Creek
- LoDo
- And they often try to make it to town for events like St. Pats and Rockies games
Next week you can find them at 900 S. Broadway on Monday, who knows where on Tuesday (see – the name Lost does mean something!), and W-Sa they’ll be at the usual stop in Castle Rock. Thursday they’ll also be at the Metro State Innovation Day food fest. You’re planning to be there, right?
Like them on Facebook or follow them on Twitter (they’re good at updating both) to get the latest.
John and Scott – I can’t wait for my first cup!
