Hopefully you guys were able to make it out to the Justice League of Street Food party this past weekend. In preparation, I specifically left my stomach empty for the event and was not disappointed!
The event was the quintessential Colorado summer blast: tons of people lined up on the rows of benches, happily downing delicious fare and jamming out to the DJ who was spinning nearby.
My first stop was the Stick it to Me truck, which prides itself as “fine cuisine on a stick.” They aren’t kidding. I ordered an Italian stick with organic chicken, lemon, garlic and sage, a Korean stick (BBQ Angus steak- YUM), and their Italian sandwich with basil goat cheese, caramelized onions, and arugula. Fresh, delicious, and hit the spot.
After that, I wandered down to Biker Jim’s Gourmet Dogs. Elk Jalapeno Cheddar dog? Yes please. Perfect amount of kick, and topped with some sweet caramelized onions and a little yellow mustard. They should really start serving at Rockies games.
And because I’m the crazy bacon lady, I had to finish my day off with a Maple Bacon cupcake from the Denver Cupcake Truck. I was questioned heavily by onlookers – is that really that good? Yes, it really is. Sweet, salty, bacon-y goodness.
Can’t wait for the next party. Keep eating, people! What did you eat!?
